1. What Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address, display name, password (hashed)
• Location data: When you claim territory, your GPS position is converted to an H3 hex cell ID (~9.4m edge length, ~307 m² area). We store the hex ID and its computed center coordinates for map display. Your precise GPS position is not stored.
• Usage data: Claims made, timestamps, game activity

2. Why We Collect It

We collect this data solely to provide the gameplay experience: placing territory claims on the map, showing the leaderboard, and tracking your progress. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. How Long We Store It

Your data is stored as long as your account is active. Inactive accounts (no login for 2 years) will be deleted along with associated territory claims.

4. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under EU law, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for location tracking

5. Data Minimization

• We store H3 hex cell IDs and their computed center coordinates (~9.4m edge length, ~307 m² area per hex). Your precise GPS position is used once to determine the hex cell, then discarded — it is never persisted.
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plaintext
• We do not use cookies for tracking purposes

6. Location Data

Location access is required for the core gameplay mechanic. If you deny location permissions, you can still browse the map but cannot claim territory. You can revoke location access at any time through your browser settings.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (including all claimed territories) from your profile page. This action is immediate and irreversible. All data is purged from our database — we do not retain soft-deleted records.
